Using DREAMIES & DREAMIES T-M
NEATCap Medical salutes neonatal and Pediatric caregivers
NEATCap Medical salutes neonatal and pediatric caregivers. We have a deep affection the smallest ICU patients, and hold the skilled nurses, therapists, technicians, physicians, and support staff that care for these special patients each day in the highest regard.
One of the goals of DREAMIES is to improve the lives of caregivers during their stressful workday. We designed DREAMIES and DREAMIES T-M with caregivers in mind. We worked closely with senior NICU nurses, therapists, and technicians to ensure that the device seamlessly integrates with their best practices and protocols.
For example, DREAMIES are an on-patient noise protection solution that does not require extensive caregiver work practice modification to reduce patient noise exposure. DREAMIES and DREAMIES T-M are easy to use— no skin contacting adhesives, no ear plugs to cut, insert and tape in place (no tape to pull off) — just choose the right size for your patient, tear open the package, and put them on.
Easy to use and compatible with best practices
DREAMIES and DREAMIES T-M devices are designed to be easy to put on and take off, and compatible with infant ICU, transport and MRI best practice care, and MRI examination protocols. DREAMIES T-M are MR Safe and have been tested by a premier MR Safety testing laboratory.
DREAMIES and DREAMIES T-M are provided in 5 sizes to fit the range of infant intensive care patients, in easy-to-open packaging, labeled with the Headband Size and Ear Cup Size. Device sizes are based on infant occipitofrontal head circumference (OFC) and ear length.
The headband and ear cups are marked with easy to see Right and Left markings. The size markings include a curved underline that “smiles at you” when the device is installed properly. The devices have easy to open and close, low-profile Velcro front closure. These and other features were designed with nursing feedback and nursing ease-of-use in mind. DREAMIES and DREAMIES T-M can be used on patients either inside or outside of incubators, and function effectively whether or not the incubator is partially opened or closed.

Single Patient Use
DREAMIES and DREAMIES T-M can be used multiple times on a single-patient – but should be discarded and replaced after use – according to hospital infection control and best practice patient care procedures. As infants grow and develop during their stay in the NICU or PICU, they may require progressively larger sizes of headbands and ear cups.
